Little Red Riding Hood Childhood Session – Child Photographer Pretoria

 In Children

I couldn’t have asked for  a better location for this Little Red Riding Hood inspired childhood session! We wanted a forest-like location and I had heard of Rosemary Hill and decided to check it out. And man, I’m so glad I did. It’s like a photographers playground!

I’ve been photographing Isabella since she was 6 months old and mom books a Childhood Session each year before her birthday so that she can use the images as decor for Isabella’s birthday party. Super cute idea!

We started the shoot off in a small section of the farm that was filled with these tall, lengthy blue gum trees… one would think they were waiting there for us all these years… because they were just perfect!

After a short walk through the forest, we sat down and had a little picnic. Mom packed a lovely basket! And Bella reminded us that she was turning 3 soon.

After the forest, we moved on to the open fields where Bella (and mom) could do a little frolicking!

Then it was time for another snack…

And more frolicking…

Mom had her gorgeous outfit made and it was perfect for twirling! What little girl doesn’t love to twirl in a dress?

And then we ended the session with a little glitter… Each year she gets better but still struggles slightly to get it off her hand. After a quick blow it usually gets dumped on the ground rather quickly. Quite cute actually. 🙂

Isabella is always a pleasure to photograph and it’s always a pleasure working with mom (and grandma) for these sessions. From a photographers standpoint, the more I work with a child, the better the shoots become because I know there personalities, what to expect and how to work with them.

Moms, if you find a photographer that you like, stick with them. The more your photographer knows your child, the better the experience and final images will be. 🙂
